So here’s how the long Australian Easter panned out (they “Mondayitise” ANZAC day over here, and since it hit with Easter this year it was “Tuesdayitised” making for a great break).
Wednesday
Arrive from airport, passing the cheese sticks and soundtube:
Then just downstairs from the apartment for a quick dinner (pasta and labcoats at Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons) – dodging the fire and the rain:
Thursday
I took Thursday off to further extend my weekend, plan was for a little drive down Mornington Peninsula, maybe as far as Portsea.
In the end we popped across to Flinders:
And eventually as far as Phillip Island.
Friday
Bit of a quiet one after a sleepless night. Watched a bit of TV, drank a bit of coffee, Sarah came to visit and we sent her on her way at Southern Cross station:
Saturday
Typical weekend morning routine – down to the South Melbourne Markets for breakfast and shopping:
Then venturing around the display homes at Point Cook:
Finishing the day by going to a Carl Barron comedy gig.
Sunday
Ribs and an egg hunt at Wendy and Toby’s:
Monday
Out to the Dandenongs and the Healesville Sanctuary:
We also did a lap of Albert Park, but there we none of these guys there this time:
Tuesday
Time to explore the central city a little more, so we took the 10 minute walk to Fed Square:
Then to Melbourne Central and the Shot Tower:
Around to Lygon street for lunch and back via the museum and the Royal Exhibition Building:
By the end of the day we got down to St Kilda and ate more…
Wednesday
With the week gone it was time to drop off at the airport, but not before Dad could show off his new tolerance of heights by standing on the balcony, handsfree…

Wow Jase, what amazing photos!!! They certainly look better than my shots of the same places………..
Sounds like you had a great long weekend, good on Tex for being able to stand on the balcony, I really didn’t think he would get there!!
