Foods of the Festive Season

It’s been a photo publishing drought lately, but now comes the post festive season flood. Like so many social events food is a key element, so here’s some of the foods I’ve enjoyed over the past weeks.

Barbecues
Barbecues are a staple, from the simple ham and eggs on New Years Day:

to something a little more of a treat like prawns, kebabs and trout:

Japanese Feast
As a flashback to the Japan trip chef Nicola knocked up a Japanese feast!

Okonomiyaki in Japan:

And back in NZ:

A few prep shots of that:

And most critically, desserts!

Another post to come shortly on a wee snack from before the trip to NZ for Christmas. A snack known as “The Second Annual Christmas Ham Consumption.” A snack that was almost non-stop eating from 2pm till 9pm one Sunday afternoon/evening… Yes, being a school night the pin had to be pulled by 9 :)
